9/23: Meeting 1. Faculty members of the Racial Justice Working Group (RJWG) convene to discuss the group’s structure and purpose, and to review recommendations for student and alum members of the group.
9/30: Meeting 2. Faculty members of RJWG continue discussion of the agenda from 9/23.
October 2020
10/2: Faculty members of RJWG publish a letter announcing the group and introducing its full membership.
10/7: Meeting 3. Faculty members of RJWG meet to continue discussion of the agenda from 9/23.
10/15: Meeting 4. First full meeting of RJWG including student and alum members. Welcome from Department Chair Prof. Joseph Viteritti. Group members discuss the group’s purpose and priorities.
10/22: Meeting 5. RJWG begins planning a first event, scheduled for November 20, “What Does an Anti-Racist Department Look Like?,” along with a pre-event survey.
10/29: Meeting 6. RJWG continues planning for November 20 event.
10/29: RJWG publishes a letter a announcing the November 20 event and the pre-event survey.

11/12: Meeting 7. RJWG continues planning for November 20 event.
11/20: RJWG holds the event “What Does an Anti-Racist Department Look Like?,” hosted by UPP, open to all current students, alums, staff, and faculty. The event is attended by about 85 people.
December 2020
12/10: Meeting 8. RJWG debriefs about the November 20 event, discusses next steps, including disseminating a report on the event and the survey, and begins planning out the group’s focus for Spring 2021.
12/23: RJWG publishes a letter reviewing its activities to date, thanking those who participated in the November 20 event, and announcing that the survey was being reopened until January 4 and that a report on the first event and survey would be forthcoming.
January 2021
1/13: RJWG webpage goes live.
1/14: Meeting 9. RJWG develops plans for Spring 2021 based on feedback gathered during the November 20 event and the related survey.
1/29: Meeting 10. RJWG further defines the focus of Spring 2021 plans and reviews draft report on the November 20 event and survey.
