TOD along the IBX

This transit-oriented development plan, developed by Hunter College Urban Policy and Planning (UPP) graduate students at the request of the New York City Department of City Planning (DCP), addresses the transformative opportunity presented by the Interborough Express (IBX), a 14-mile light metro passenger rail line connecting Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, to Jackson Heights, Queens, stopping at 19 new stations.

The IBX represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reshape land use patterns, expand housing and employment opportunities, and enhance quality of life through strategic planning and community-centered development.
